Real Madrid’s start to the season has been pretty rocky, to say the least.

Despite spending more than £250 million in the summer, Zinedine Zidane is already under pressure.

A stuttering start to their La Liga campaign coupled with a 3-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League has led to fans asking questions of the Frenchman.

Of course, they haven’t exactly been helped by injuries.

Before the season even started, Marco Asensio was ruled out for a lengthy period after sustaining a cruciate ligament rupture.

Eden Hazard’s debut was delayed after he picked up a muscle injury, while Luka Modric and Marcelo are also sidelined.

Now, Ferland Mendy has picked up a muscle injury and is out of action.

Is it just bad luck?

Well, not according to many fans who have discovered a training video from the club’s training ground.

The video in question shows players working out in the gym and it’s gone viral.

The likes of Sergio Ramos, Luka Modric, Casemiro and Karim Benzema are using the leg press machine and it doesn’t take a gym addict to know that their form is pretty awful.

In fact, it's dangerous.

Amazed fans have been reacting to the video with one saying: “I swear I have never seen something like this. How can this happen at a club like Madrid, just unbelievable.”

Another wrote: “I swear man my ACL hurts by just watching them working out like that.”

“ok wtf? even a person who is a normal gym goer would say that's not normal,” wrote another fan.

While a fourth said: “I want to break that machine lmao. It’s doing them more damage. Better off training manually with natural movements.”

It really is rather astonishing that such a massive club like Real can risk serious injury to their players in that way.
