Rugby can be an emotional sport.Tackles flying everywhere and it's almost guaranteed that somebody will stamp on your head at least once every 80 minutes. So, understandably, it can get slightly heated at times, and Samoa versus Russia at the Rugby World Cup yesterday was no different. Russian flanker Tagir Gadzhiev appeared to be not best pleased when a Samoan player laid his hands upon him. However, it was Senio Toleafoa to the rescue, and to the rescue in a rather bizarre way.

Resembling somewhat of a guardian angel, Toleafoa wrapped his arms around the angered Russian to help calm the situation, but what he did next was simply quite extraordinary, and due to his actions, he's gone viral on Twitter.

Moments after the Samoan bear-hugged his opponent, he delivered a gentle kiss on the cheek of Gadzhiev, which seemed to be the icing on the cake of Toleafoa's guide to calming down your opponent.

Take a look at the incident in question below.

No wonder it's got over 700 retweets and over 3.6k likes. What a strange thing to see on a rugby pitch!

The Rugby World Cup group game was certainly excellent viewing for the neutrals as it included two yellow cards and a heap of tries. Samoa received two yellows within the space of just a few minutes, but Russia failed to capitalise upon this opportunity.

In fact, both Rey Lee-Lo and Motu Matu’u can count themselves lucky that they didn't receive their marching orders. They both spent time on the sidelines for what was considered high tackles, but the referee and TMO deemed that the tackle needn't warrant a red card.

Once both players had served their punishments, Samoa went on to win the game 34-9. This victory propelled Samoa to the top of their group, ahead of tournament hosts Japan and pool favourites Ireland.
