The ‘Drake Curse’ took over the sporting world last season.

The Canadian rapper was the ultimate bad luck charm for sports stars. Whenever he was pictured with someone, they would go on to lose.

Anthony Joshua, Serena Williams, Conor McGregor, Layvin Kurzawa, Paul Pogba, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sergio Aguero and Jadon Sancho were all victims of the curse.

However, that curse has now been killed after the Toronto Raptors - Drake’s basketball team - won the NBA Finals against Golden State Warriors.

While the Drake Curse may not exist anymore, the ‘Divock Origi Curse’ most certainly does.

What is the Divock Origi curse we hear you ask…

Well, the Liverpool striker scored six times last season against Everton, Wolves, Watford, Newcastle, Barcelona and Tottenham.

What do those six clubs all have in common? Well, they’re not doing particularly well this season.

Let's take a look:

Everton

Who can forget Origi’s 96th-minute winner in last season’s Merseyside derby an Anfield?

This season, Everton have won two of their six Premier League games and Marco Silva is fighting for his job.

Wolves

Origi scored in the FA Cup third round defeat to Wolves last season.

Wolves are yet to win in the Premier League this season and sit in 19th after six games. The Europa League has nothing to do with it, it’s all down to the Origi Curse.

Watford

Origi scored at Anfield during the 5-0 win against Watford.

Like Wolves, there’s winless this season and are rock-bottom having already sacked Javi Gracia.

Newcastle

Another crucial Origi goal in Liverpool’s title challenge in the penultimate match of the season. His 86th-minute header gave Jurgen Klopp’s side a 3-2 victory at St James’ Park.

This season, Newcastle sit 17th with five points from their six matches having lost Rafa Benitez in the summer.

Barcelona

Origi will always remembered for his two goals in the Champions League semi-final second leg against Barcelona as Liverpool turned their 3-0 first leg defeat around to win 4-0 at Anfield.

Fast forward to this campaign and Barca have won just three of their six La Liga matches. They also lost last season’s Copa del Rey final following their defeat against Origi’s Liverpool.

Tottenham

Origi sealed Liverpool’s sixth European Cup win in Madrid, putting them 2-0 ahead against Spurs in the final with just minutes left to play.

And Spurs haven’t really recovered.

They’re 10 points behind Liverpool already, lost a two-goal lead against Olympiacos in the Champions League and lost to League Two Colchester in the Carabao Cup.

But there’s evidence that the Origi case dates back years.

During the 2015/16 season at Liverpool, the Belgian scored against West Brom (relegated), Aston Villa (Relegated) and Stoke City (relegated).

The following season, he scored against Sunderland - who went to endure back-to-back relegations - and Middlesbrough - who were also relegated.

Warning to clubs around the world, DO NOT LET DIVOCK ORIGI SCORE AGAINST YOU!
