Alvaro Morata had a pretty bad day at the office on Wednesday. He started Atletico Madrid's fixture against Mallorca on the bench, but it didn't take him long to make an impact on the pitch. Unfortunately, it was a negative one. After being subbed on, Morata picked up two yellow cards in the space of two minutes, following arguments with Mallorca's Xisco Campos and the referee. Utter madness. The on-loan Chelsea striker received his marching orders in the 77th minute. But, did he at least accept his wrongdoings and calm down after the match? No, he did not. Instead, Morata reportedly kicked off again in the tunnel and tried to square up with Mallorca midfielder Salva Sevilla.

It was Diego Costa of all people who had to restrain his teammate.

But that's not where it ended. The Spaniard was also filmed clashing with a journalist in the mixed zone after his red card was questioned.

Check out a video of the incident below.

That's certainly not a good look for Morata. Not only is it very unprofessional, but it could land him in more trouble with manager Diego Simeone.

Morata's red card means he will now be suspended for Atletico's biggest game of the season - Saturday's La Liga derby against Real Madrid.

The fixture has added importance too, as it pits the league's top two against each other. Morata's absence will likely impact Los Rojiblancos - but they do have strong attacking alternatives.

Both Costa and Joao Felix scored in Wednesday's win over Mallorca and the pair are already forming quite a devastating partnership upfront.

Given their good form, it's not even likely that Morata would have had a place in Atletico's starting XI this weekend - and given his antics yesterday, he might be kept out of the team for a while.
