Arsene Wenger has been out of management since leaving Arsenal in 2018.

The Frenchman had 22 years in north London and during that time, he built some of the Premier League's greatest ever teams.

He also developed quite a rivalry with Manchester United, too.

For years, any clash between Arsenal and the Red Devils was one of the most anticipated of the season.

The two sides almost encapsulated England's north vs south divide and they absolutely hated each other.

We all remember Patrick Viera vs Roy Keane, but the Wenger vs Sir Alex Ferguson rivalry was also up there.

So, given all that, you'd think it would be impossible for the former Gunners manager to ever entertain thoughts of making a sensational return to management with Man United.

But, this week, he revealed that it would actually be a 'dream' to take over at Old Trafford in the future.

"Manchester United is a dream job for any manager. At least, any manager with courage and confidence," Wenger said while working as a pundit on beIN Sports.

"Yes, they need - in my opinion - four first-team players. But around those players, I see a squad that is capable of challenging. They aren't as far away as people think.

"The team have no pattern of play, no pattern of pressing. There is a team there, but it needs to be coached and developed. Like I said, four players and they can be challengers. For everything."

Wenger was then asked if he was personally interested in taking over from Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

"Manchester United is a dream job. For any coach. I have confidence, I have courage and you're right, I have ideas."

Very interesting indeed. We've not yet seen Wenger return to the hotseat since he left Arsenal in 2018. But if he does come back, it seems he's eyeing up one of the biggest jobs in football.
