WWE is about to head into one of its biggest weeks in some time, and they're planning some major changes.

As reported earlier in the week, pyrotechnics will be returning to regular programming, which means Raw and SmackDown will open with fireworks and the likes of Brock Lesnar will get their explosive entrances back.

And as reported by WrestleVotes, WWE are freshening up the stage sets, with both brands apparently getting brand-new titantrons this coming week.

WWE are dubbing the upcoming week 'Premiere Week', which will start with Monday Night Raw's 'season premiere' on USA Network.

Two nights later, NXT will finally get a full two hours on the USA Network for the first time, where they will go head-to-head with AEW Dynamite on TNT.

And then on Friday October 4, FOX will broadcast SmackDown for the first time, with Kofi Kingston defending his WWE Championship against Brock Lesnar and a star-studded line-up is advertised, including Stone Cold Steve Austin and Goldberg.

The company have also confirmed that there will be a major shake-up when it comes to the broadcasting teams, and it sees the return of Jerry 'The King' Lawler.

Lawler will return to Raw as an 'analyst' alongside Dio Maddin, who only debuted as 205 Live commentator a few weeks ago, and Vic Joseph will take up the play-by-play commentary, having impressed fans in his cameo last month.

That means the regular Raw trio of Michael Cole, Corey Graves and Renee Young have been displaced - but all three are heading to SmackDown.

It's the clearest sign yet that with FOX's vision, WWE see the blue brand as the 'A show' going forward, although USA Network will probably have something to say about that regarding Raw.

SmackDown's new trio though means that there's no place for Tom Phillips and Byron Saxton at the commentary table.

Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp has stated that Phillips will be doing some kind of 'producing' backstage, but there is no news currently on Saxton.

It's a huge shake-up for WWE and it doesn't stop there - the WWE Draft will commence on October 11 to give us all new match-ups and stories going forward.
