Paul Pogba returned from injury on Wednesday night.

He featured for Manchester United in an underwhelming 1-1 draw with Rochdale, which saw the Red Devils scrape through to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on penalties.

The win was much needed after a 2-0 defeat to West Ham last weekend, a game that saw United really miss their French midfielder.

Pogba is now fully recovered and he'll be expected to feature heavily going forward - but fans might not be seeing at Old Trafford for too much longer.

That's because according to The Sun, he's 'more desperate than ever' to leave and will push for a transfer in January.

Per the report, Pogba's had his mind made up for a while, but recent events have further strained his relationship with the club.

It began when he was taken off penalty duties following his miss against Wolves and he angered Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for clashing with Marcus Rashford on the pitch.

It was later confirmed in the dressing room that the young English striker will be United's penalty taker moving forward.

After missing three games through injury, Pogba was then snubbed for captaincy against Rochdale and the armband instead was handed to 21-year-old Axel Tuanzebe.

He then didn't take a penalty in the shootout - but it's not clear if the midfielder refused to take one, or if Solskjaer didn't ask him to.

The Sun's report goes on to state that Pogba believes the club is in reverse and he's refusing to be made scapegoat for United’s problems.

There is no chance that he will be signing a new contract in Manchester and given how desperate he is to leave, a move in January could well be on the cards.
