It was reported recently that Nice's £18m striker Kasper Dolberg had his watch stolen after a game on September 16th.

And not just any watch but a £62,000 watch.

Even for a millionaire footballer, that's quite a chunk of change and he, of course, reported it to the local police.

Following their investigation, a Nice youth player, Lamine Diaby-Fadiga, admitted to the theft and sparked an internal investigation at the club.

And according to French reports, that will not end well for the 18-year-old Diaby-Fadiga.

L'Equipe say that the youngster has apologised to Dolberg, his teammates, as well as Nice boss Patrick Vieira.

But despite that, they still intend to sack Diaby-Fadiga with immediate effect.

It can't be an easy decision for Nice, either, given how highly they clearly rate the forward.

He made his debut as just 16 years old and has gone on to make further appearances for the club.

And to really hammer home just how gutting this must be for them, they even agreed a new contract with Diaby-Fadiga just recently that would keep him at the club until 2021.

And instead, he's set to leave under a cloud as the club gives up on him.

It makes it especially strange that he decided to steal the watch - he was in line to be buying watches like that himself in just a few years.

But one moment of complete madness leaves him having to rebuild his career at just 18 years old.

It's safe to say that he'll be regretting the incident for a very long time to come.
