The release of FIFA 20 has been met with a furious backlash from some gamers.

On launch day last Friday, #FixCareerMode was trending worldwide on Twitter, as fans voiced their complaints about the number of bugs in one of EA's most popular game modes.

Many of the issues surround unrealistic AI teams, with screenshots showing the likes of Brighton and Norwich at the top of the table, while Manchester City and Arsenal are in the relegation zone.

One gamer even posted an image of his final Premier League table - the problem being that Liverpool were top after 74 games - with 149 points.

The fact #FixCareerMode was trending certainly wasn't a good look on release day, yet things got even worse over the weekend.

Many fans have now taken to Metacritic to review the game and at the time of writing, FIFA 20 has a measly 1.3/10 user rating from 540 gamers.

That's absolutely terrible. Some of the reviews are damning, too.

"I expected NOTHING this year. And you still **** it up EA," one person wrote.

"This is the WORST state I've EVER seen a game being released in. Career Mode is beyond destroyed. You treat loyal customers for over 20 years time like total ****. 0/10."

"Copy and paste Fifa 19. Had my pants down and sold me Fifa 19 with a new dashboard skin. Haven’t fixed any problems," another user said.

"What on earth have you been doing for a year??? Praying your loot boxes don’t get banned?"

Despite terrible reviews from actual gamers, FIFA 20 has actually gone down quite well with critics.

"The new additions elevate it above 'standard annual update' fare," according to the Guardian, while Areajugones claim "EA Sports totally hits the spot with FIFA 20".

Compared to FIFA, PES 20 has received many more positive reviews from players and currently has a rating of 8.7/10 on the website.
