WWE is pulling out all the stops ahead of SmackDown's debut on Fox later this week on Friday night, as they're doing everything they can to get some of the biggest names in the company's history involved.

SmackDown's first episode on Fox on Friday is billed as a special 20th anniversary show, and it will feature legends from the past as well as a WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Brock Lesnar.

So far, WWE has announced that Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Trish Stratus, Jerry 'The King' Lawler, Mark Henry, and Sting.

Another big name WWE is trying to add to the show is The Rock, but there could be a roadblock in the way.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, via Wrestling News, has reported that WWE is working on getting The Great One on the show.

However, everything is up in the air at the moment as to whether he can pull it off an appearance on the show with his busy schedule.

If WWE is able to confirm The Rock for SmackDown, they will likely announce his appearance before the show takes place in order to encourage more people to tune in on Fox.

If The People's Champion does end up appearing on SmackDown on Friday night, it could end up being one of the most viewed editions of SmackDown of the year. Fingers crossed.

On the already stacked show without The Rock, four matches have been scheduled.

Including the WWE title match, Roman Reigns will take on Erick Rowan, Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch will team up vs Sasha Banks and Bayley, and Shane McMahon will take on Kevin Owens in a ladder match where the loser must leave WWE.

Add The Rock into the mix of all that, plus the other WWE legends making appearances, and you have a SmackDown show that you would be a fool to miss.
