USA Women's basketball team celebrated as continental champion after defeating Canada 67-46 at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2019 Final in the Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The team coached by Dawn Staley defended at a high level and dominated the paint with essential contributions from Tina Charles (12 points and 11 rebounds), Sylvia Fowles (12 points) and Stefanie Dolson (10 points). Point guard Jordin Canada also stood out with 11 points. 

Sylvia Fowles was selected FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2019 MVP after averaging 13.2 points and 7.8 rebounds during the continental championship.

Jordin Canada, Diamond De Shields, Damiris Dantas, Kayla Alexander and Sylvia Fowles were selected to the FIBA Women's AmeriCup 2019 All-Star Team.

Brazil had a solid afternoon in attack and defeated the host, Puerto Rico, 95-66, to take home the Bronze Medal of the FIBA Women’s AmeriCup 2019. Brazil dominated the paint, with Damiris Dantas and Erika De Souza scoring 28 and 16 points, respectively. Also, they scored 12 three-pointers. Tati Pacheco produced another 15 points from the bench.
