The Rock has confirmed that he will be returning to WWE later this week when SmackDown makes its debut on Fox on Friday Night.It had been rumoured that WWE was doing everything they could to book The Rock for their debut Friday Night SmackDown show later this week.The only roadblock that was stopping this from happening was the schedule of The Great One. Well, it looks like that roadblock has been removed.The Rock has confirmed on his Twitter account today that he will be on this week's SmackDown on Fox, which is being billed as a 20th anniversary show.The People's Champion said in his tweet: "FINALLY...I come back home to my WWE universe. This FRIDAY NIGHT, I’ll return for our debut of SMACKDOWN! LIVE on FOX.

"There’s no greater title than #thepeopleschamp. And there’s no place like home. Tequila on me after the show 😈🥃"

The Rock will be joining a cast of WWE legends that have been booked for SmackDown's 20th anniversary show.

Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Goldberg, Kurt Angle, Lita, Mick Foley, Booker T, Trish Stratus, Jerry 'The King' Lawler, Mark Henry, and Sting will all also be appearing on the show.

SmackDown's debut on Fox on Friday night will also have a blue carpet special at 7:30 pm eastern leading up to the big premiere.

The 20th anniversary show currently has three matches scheduled including a WWE Championship match between Kofi Kingston and Brock Lesnar.

WWE fans will also see Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch team up against Bayley and Sasha Banks in a tag team match, and Roman Reigns vs Erick Rowan. Shane McMahon will also take on Kevin Owens in a ladder match where the loser must leave WWE.

Now The Rock has been confirmed for SmackDown's debut on Fox this Friday night, it has become a must-see show.
