Manchester United and Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Monday evening.

A very dull first half ended with United in front thanks to a brilliant strike from Scott McTominay - although, there was little else of note.

But things kicked into gear a little in the second half.

The most notable moment was undoubtedly Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's equaliser, which was initially disallowed for offside.

But it was a shocker of a decision and VAR rightfully overruled the assistant's flag after replays showed the Arsenal forward was a good few yards onside.

Both teams had chances to win it but neither took them, instead sharing the Old Trafford points between them for the second time in two seasons.

The man takeaway, though, is that neither of these teams looked particularly good.

United and Arsenal were once the two undoubted, dominant forces in the Premier League but they could each be battling just for top four again this season.

And among all the stats to come out after the game, one stood out that really showcases how far the duo have fallen.

Simon Stone pointed out at full-time that the two combined teams now have as many points as league-leaders Liverpool.

That's quite something for two of the Premier League's big boys.

Arsenal, to their credit, do currently sit in fourth on 12 points from these first seven games - but already nine points behind 1st.

And those nine points are made up by 10th place United, who have made their worst start to a league season for exactly 30 years.

So while Arsenal may not be exactly where they want to be, they don't have as much work to do as United.

In fact, since the Gunners ended Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's unbeaten start in March, United have picked up only the 15th most points in the league.

How the mighty have fallen...
