Real Madrid were battered by Paris Saint-Germain in the opening match of their Champions League group.

Los Blancos lost 3-0 in France thanks to a double from Angel Di Maria and a goal from Thomas Meunier.

Their game at home against Club Brugge was expected to set them back on course in the competition, but Zinedine Zidane's side suffered a nightmare start.

After eight minutes, Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis tapped in the opening goal - but it came in very bizarre fashion.

The visitors beat Real's high line and Percy Tau slipped a ball into the box for his teammate, who seemed to trip over his own feet, but forced the ball past Thibaut Courtois.

Check it out below.

Certainly not the most spectacular goal you'll ever see, but Dennis will claim he meant it.

Things got even worse for Madrid in the 39th minute, when Brugge's striker fell over his own feet again, but still managed to chip his effort over Courtois.

Check out the second goal below.

At half-time, it looked like Brugge were going to pull off a huge result, while the hosts trudged into the changing rooms as whistles and boos rang around them.

But the home supporters got behind their side in the second half and Madrid went on to rescue a point.

Sergio Ramos climbed highest to head home from Karim Benzema's cross in the 55th minute as Los Blancos went on the throw the kitchen sink at Brugge.

The visitors' captain, Ruud Vormer, was sent off in the 85th minute after picking up two yellow cards and from the resulting free-kick, Casimero headed in the equaliser.

Los Blancos pushed for a winner in the final five minutes, but couldn't fashion a killer chance. Instead, they have to settle for one point from their opening two Champions League games.
