After losing their opening Champions League game against Paris Saint-Germain 3-0, Real Madrid would have been looking forward to kick-starting their European campaign when Club Brugge came to Madrid. It didn’t quite go to plan for Zinedine Zidane’s side, though. And when we say it didn’t quite go to plan, it was an absolute nightmare evening at the Bernabeu.Emmanuel Dennis opened the scoring with a rather bizarre finish after just nine minutes.30 minutes later, Dennis was tripping over once again in front of goal. But once again, he managed to find a way past Thibaut Courtois.

Dennis then did a Cristiano Ronaldo celebration to rub it in the faces of the home fans even more.

Extraordinary.

At half-time, the home fans let the Real players exactly what they thought of the shocking 45 minutes they had just witnessed.

But Dennis' goals weren't enough to claim a famous victory for Club Brugge.

After Courtois was replaced at half-time due to an injury, the home side rallied to earn a point.

Sergio Ramos pulled a goal back with the Spanish defender adjudged to be just onside by VAR.

Then, with five minutes remaining, Casemiro made it 2-2.

While Zidane will be pleased after his side rescued a point, it's Madrid's worst start to a Champions League campaign ever.

Los Blancos have never failed to win their opening two group games since the tournament adopted its current format back in 1992-93.
