Real Madrid could only manage an uninspiring draw at home to Club Brugge on matchday two of the Champions League

Los Blancos fell behind to two first-half goals from Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis.

His first was very lucky, with the ball bouncing off both his feet before trickling past Thibaut Courtois.

The striker also needed a bit of luck for his second. This time, he stole the ball inside Madrid's half and as he was bearing down on goal, tripped over his own feet before chipping Courtois.

Zinedine Zidane's side were awful in the first half but after the break, they stepped up to save a point.

Sergio Ramos scored the first before Casimero rescued a draw in the 85th minute. The equaliser came seconds after Brugge captain Ruud Vormer was sent off.

It could have been much worse for Madrid, but frankly, a draw just isn't good enough for a club with such lofty ambitions.

After suffering a hammering against Paris Saint-Germain in their opening group game, Real have just one point from a possible six.

Drawing with Brugge also delivers Zidane a new record too - but it's one he certainly doesn't want to hold.

Never before have Madrid failed to register a win either of their first two Champions League group games.

Considering the competition began back in 1992/93, it was a very impressive run that lasted 17 years. But, all good things come to an end.

It's almost as if Cristiano Ronaldo was carrying Madrid to three Champions League titles.

Without him, Zidane's side are in serious danger of being dumped out of the competition at the group stage.

Next up is an intimidating trip away to Galatasary and if Real fail to turn up for that game, they will find themselves leaving Turkey with nothing.
