In case you missed it, Tottenham were humiliated in their own backyard by Bayern Munich last night in the Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino's side lost 7-2 to the German giants in north London after taking the lead through Heung-min Son in the 12th minute.

Goals from Joshua Kimmich and the the ageless Robert Lewandowski saw Bayern ahead at half-time, but things really turned ugly for Spurs in the second-half.

Former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry well and truly came into his own, putting four absolute crackers past Hugo Lloris in just 45 minutes of play.

Lewandowski also added another to complete the job, with Harry Kane's penalty a mere insignificant detail on match reports across the globe.

Spurs' talismanic striker will surely be considering his future after the club's woeful start to the 2019/20 season and he will certainly not be happy with Gnabry's quartet of strikes.

That's because the German winger has scored as many goals as Kane in Spurs' new stadium - in six less appearances.

Only three of Kane's four goals have come from open play as well after his penalty against Bayern.

The Englishman notched two from open play in Spurs' opening Premier League game against Aston Villa and was also on target on Saturday in the 2-1 win over Southampton.

The statistic just further highlights how ridiculous Gnabry's performance was.

The 24-year-old has gone from West Brom reject to one of the finest wingers in world football.

Alongside Lewandowski, Kingsley Coman and Philippe Coutinho, Bayern have an attacking lineup that will be feared throughout the footballing universe.

Gnabry has also been starring for Germany as well as Bayern, finding the back of the net nine times in his first 10 senior games for Die Mannschaft.
