Tottenham were embarrassed on the European stage in front of their own fans last night.

Despite taking an early lead against Bayern Munich, they went on to lose 7-2 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with former Arsenal player Serge Gnabry scoring FOUR times.

It was the ultimate humiliation.

Spurs certainly haven’t had the greatest start to the season.

They suffered a shock loss at home to Newcastle, allowed a two-goal lead to slip in the north London derby, did the same against Olympiacos, lost 2-1 to Leicester after going 1-0 up and lost on penalties to League Two Colchester in the Carabao Cup.

But it doesn’t get much worse than conceding seven in the Champions League.

And it’s all too much for one Spurs fan.

He phoned into talkSPORT last night and admitted that he’s already called in sick for work and has left the WhatsApp group in fear of the mocking from his Arsenal mates.

“I’m flabbergasted with the result tonight,” the fan began. “7-2! It’s really not on!" Darren the Spurs fan said.

“Christian Eriksen, first of all, he doesn’t want to be there and should have been frozen out from the start of the season. He said he wanted to leave after the Champions League final so he should have been in the Under-23s or Under-18s.

“Pochettino over five years has done a great job – an amazing job – but I just feel like it’s coming to an end.

“I’ve got to go to work tomorrow with eight Arsenal fans… I’ve just text my manager and had to call in sick!

I’ve left the WhatsApp group and I’m not going to work tomorrow!

Brilliant.

Of course, Arsenal fans aren’t exactly in the best position to mock Spurs after a heavy loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League.

In the last meeting between the two sides in 2017, Bayern triumphed 10-2 on aggregate during their Champions League last-16 clash, with the German side winning 5-1 in both legs.

But Arsenal fans won’t care about that right now. They will only be interested in mocking Spurs fans today.
