New Zealand have, unsurprisingly, absolutely smashed Canada today at the Rugby World Cup.

The All Blacks went into the game as the heavy favourites, so it's no surprise that they've blown away their counterparts in emphatic fashion at the Oita Stadium.

Steve Hansen's men successfully saw off Southern Hemisphere rivals South Africa in their World Cup opener, and they've now backed that up with a convincing win over Canada.

As for the Canadians, they've now played two and lost two. They started their campaign with a 48-7 defeat to Italy.

Despite 48-7 not being a very flattering scoreline, it's only got worse for the Canadians, who found themselves 28-0 down at half-time.

In fact, they had conceded three tries in just 16 minutes, which really did set them up for a miserable 80 minutes against one of the world's best.

Things got worse for them once fatigue started to kick in, and New Zealand started to hit full flow, with the scoreline starting to become larger and larger.

After just 50 minutes, Hansen's men were 56-0 ahead.

After just 60 minutes, they were then 63-0 up, making it the highest score so far at this year's competition.

By the hour mark, the All Blacks had already ran over nine tries and kicked eight conversions, with the Barrett brothers all getting their names on the scoresheet.

Canada's biggest rugby union defeat came at the hands of England at Twickenham back in 2004 when they lost 70-0.
