NXT UK TakeOver: Cardiff was another big moment for WWE's British wrestling scene.

In the main event, Tyler Bate and WALTER put on a Match of the Year contender, which saw the two do battle for over 45 minutes.

Earlier on that night, Joe Coffey also set the stage alight with his performance against Dave Mastiff in a Last Man Standing match.

The Scotsman was one of the standouts at TakeOver Cardiff, bringing to an end his long-running feud with a huge win.

Ahead of NXT's live shows in Brentwood on Friday, GiveMeSport caught up with Coffey to get his reaction to his latest victory - and find out what's next.

"I think the win gives me massive momentum. To do that match and come out the last man standing speaks volumes. It’s a massive statement, not just a win," Coffey exclusively told GiveMeSport.

"It was two huge dudes, the top turnbuckle exploded and we went through tables. If I can take that punishment and move forward then there’s no reason to be scared of someone like Walter.

"He has a cannon of a chop - well - I’ve had a cricket bat across the back. I’m not scared. I’ve got massive momentum."

The statement is there - Coffey wants WALTER - and why not? The Gallus leader proved that he's more than ready to move on with his performance against Mastiff.

But it's not just about a brutal display inside the ring. To be successful in WWE, you have to prepare and Coffey knows that.

"It was the big moment for both of us considering what we’ve done to each other," he continued.

"I went to town on Mastiff. I’m a big practitioner of boxing. I like to incorporate a lot of boxing in my training. I went for the liver and kidneys.

"Me and the Gallus boys got together and carefully placed some things strategically under the ring and in the arena too.

"We’re smart, we’re always cunning, we’ve always got a plan. We want a big score. That was a big score for me."

Gallus are one of the hottest stables in WWE right now - not just in NXT - but across the board. But could they make it on the main roster one day? Coffey certainly thinks so.

"We’ve got the bottle for it. I look at people and think 'if they're in the way I have to get them out of the way'. That’s across the board. In NXT UK, NXT, RAW and SmackDown.

"It doesn’t matter who you are. I love a fight and I love proving myself. That’s why I got into this game, I love it."

The Scotsman also delivered a warning to the RAW talent that will be making the trip over to the UK later this year.

"We’ll take anyone on and I can’t wait for it. RAW comes to Glasgow in a couple of months. We might just show up, cause a bit of mayhem. It’s the same everywhere. We will fight anyone."

No doubt, there are plenty of wrestlers on the Red Brand that Coffey would love to share a ring with.

But there's one he wants to face more than any - Brock Lesnar

"To me, he’s the most dangerous man on the planet. To test yourself you’ve got to be flung into that environment," Coffey said.

"He’s been a UFC heavyweight champion, a WWE Universal Champion. If that doesn’t scream 'bad man' I don’t know what does. I want to test myself against that."

Since WALTER has debuted in NXT UK, comparisons have been made between him and Lesnar.

But Coffey himself believes the Beast has one thing that the WWE UK Champion doesn't - and what he lacks, makes him beatable.

"There are similarities for sure. But does WALTER have the killer instinct like me or Brock? No, he does not.

"They aren’t the same breed. I could take the title 100%. I look into his eyes and I see fear."

Right now, there are few people in NXT UK with as much momentum as Coffey, so we could see him challenging for that UK Championship very soon.

If he does, the Scotsman will be sure to put on one hell of a show.
