We're now into the third month of the Premier League season and Liverpool are currently leading the way.

The Reds have won each of their seven games and currently enjoy a five-point lead at the top of the table.

In second is reigning champions Manchester City, who will need to overcome a deficit again this season if they wish to win their third consecutive title.

At the other end of the table, Watford are struggling massively and have only picked up two points from their opening seven games.

Joining them in the relegation zone are Newcastle and Aston Villa, with both clubs sitting on five points.

There have been a number of standout performers so far this capaign.

Kevin de Bruyne has been fantastic for Man City, while Tammy Abraham and Teemu Pukki have been excelling in front of goal for Chelsea and Norwich respectively.

It wasn't going to be anyone else, was it? He's saved Arsenal on numerous occasions already this season with his seven goals.

Aston Villa: John McGinn - 7.60

The Scottish midfielder is head and shoulders above his teammates. He's made four goal contributions from midfield.

Bournemouth: Diego Rico - 7.46

Rico has only played four times, but his two assists puts him top spot. Following closely behind the Spaniard is Josh King.

Brighton & Hove Albion: Shane Duffy - 7.21

Duffy is currently out with injury but he's comfortably been Brighton's best performer.

Burnley: Erik Pieters - 7.17

Johan Berg Gudmundsson is actually rated higher than Pieters, but we've excluded him as he's only played three games. Pieters has three assists already this season.

Chelsea: Mason Mount - 7.45

Mount has been a breath of fresh air at Chelsea. He's now a key fixture in Frank Lampard's midfield.

Crystal Palace: Wilfried Zaha - 7.07

Zaha hasn't been at his best so far but he remains his side's most influential player.

Everton: Richarlison - 7.24

Richarlison has scored twice and recorded an assist in his opening seven games.

Leicester City: Wilfried Ndidi - 7.57

Leicester's box-to-box midfielder edges out Ricardo Pereira, who has also been mightily impressive so far this season.

Liverpool: Roberto Firmino - 7.76

Firmino has been phenomenal this season. He's averaging a goal or assist every 96 minutes.

Manchester City: Kevin de Bruyne - 8.05

In seven games, the Belgian has two goals and EIGHT assists. He is well on course to be named Premier League Player of the Year.

Manchester United: Scott McTominay - 7.25

Anthony Martial has been omitted as he's only played three times. McTominay has been one of the bright sparks in what has been a poor season so far for United.

Newcastle United: Fabian Schar - 6.93

Schar has been the best of a bad bunch.

Norwich City: Teemu Pukki - 7.36

No surprises here. Pukki has already scored five times and Norwich need him to keep that form up if they are to avoid relegation.
