Manchester United once again failed to win away from home on Thursday night as they drew 0-0 to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made several changes to the side that played Arsenal on Monday, with Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard both dropping to the bench.

Mason Greenwood and Juan Mata started in their place and their lesser quality showed as United struggled to create any decent chances.

In fact, for the first time in their history in the Europa League, the Red Devils failed to register a single shot on target.

That's how bad they were.

United winless streak on the road now stands at 10 games and incredibly, the last time they did win was when Solskjaer was still caretaker manager.

And how's this for a bonkers statistic: Bury FC have won away from home more recently than United and they're not even a club anymore.

Bury - who were recently expelled by the EFL after a takeover bid collapsed at the last minute - beat Stevenage 1-0 at the Lamex Stadium on March 9.

The last time United won away from home was against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on March 6 - three days before.

Solskjaer now has a race against time to turn things around in Manchester otherwise he could face the same fate as David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho.

Despite spending £150m on reinforcements in the summer, including the £80m signing of Harry Maguire, United seem to have declined since last season.

Their next game is away to Premier League strugglers Newcastle United and if they don't win, anything could happen.
