Who is the most underrated player at each Premier League club?

Liverpool FC v RB Salzburg: Group E - UEFA Champions League

Football is a game of opinions.

You might rate a player highly, while your best mate might think he’s not particularly good.

It would be pretty boring if we all thought the same, wouldn’t it?

Our Fantasy Football teams would all look the same for starters.

But here at GIVEMESPORT, we try to stay impartial.

And we’ve decided to give praise to some players that we feel don’t quite get enough from each Premier League club.

Therefore, we’ve tried to identify one player from every squad who we feel is underrated.

We’re not saying these players aren’t rated at all, we’re saying that they deserve to be talked about a little bit more than they are right now.

Let’s talk a look:

Arsenal | Granit Xhaka

Xhaka doesn't help himself at times with rash tackles and poor decision making. But he's been made club captain by the players and Unai Emery for a reason. Arsenal fans will always look for a scapegoat and a lot of the time that is Xhaka. While he can certainly improve in aspects of his game, he's not as bad as many Gooners make out.

Manchester United v Arsenal FC - Premier League

Bournemouth | Nathan Ake

Jefferson Lerma and Philip Billing were candidates but we reckon Ake is a seriously underrated defender. Chelsea still have a £40m buy-back clause for the Dutchman they will surely think about triggering that when their transfer ban is over.

Southampton FC v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League

Aston Villa | Tyrone Mings

Mings was instrumental in Aston Villa’s promotion last season after joining the club on loan in January. Signed permanently for a fee up to £25m and already looks to be a great signing.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Aston Villa - Carabao Cup Third Round

Brighton | Pascal Gross

Brighton’s Player of the Year last season and he’s started this campaign in a similar fashion.

Brighton & Hove Albion v Arsenal FC - Premier League

Burnley | Ben Mee

Burnley’s defence is the main reason why they continue to survive in the Premier League. And Mee goes under the radar. He played every single game last season and has done the same this campaign.

Arsenal FC v Burnley FC - Premier League

Chelsea | Reece James

Fikayo Tomori, Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have been getting the plaudits this season - and rightly so.

But 19-year-old Reece James will soon be making waves in the first-team once he fully recovers from injury. He started against Lille in the Champions League recently and impressed.

Having never played a Premier League game for the Blues, it’s perhaps not too surprising that James isn’t being talked about. But he’s a future Chelsea and England regular.

FBL-EUR-C1-LILLE-CHELSEA

Crystal Palace | Patrick van Aanholt

Van Aanholt has been a solid Premier League full-back for six seasons now with Sunderland and Crystal Palace.

Solid defensively and pops up with the odd goal every now and then.

Crystal Palace v Norwich City - Premier League

Everton | Fabian Delph

Ten million pounds for Delph is an absolute bargain. If the midfielder can stay fit, he could prove to be one of the signings of the summer.

Everton FC v Manchester City - Premier League

Leicester | Wilfred Ndidi

He’s not quite N’Golo Kante but he’s not a bad replacement, that’s for sure. He's imperative if Leicester are to crack the top-six the season.

FBL-ENG-PR-LEICESTER-NEWCASTLE

Liverpool | Jordan Henderson

The Champions League-winning captain. Following in Steven Gerrard's footsteps - and inheriting the armband - Henderson had had to deal with comparisons to the Liverpool legend throughout his career at Anfield. But he offers incredible work-rate, an underrated eye for a pass and the leadership qualities you want from a captain.

Sheffield United v Liverpool FC - Premier League

Manchester City | Ilkay Gundogan

Picking an under-rated player in this City side is quite hard considering they’re all world-class. So we’ve gone for Gundogan, who probably wouldn’t make Pep Guardiola’s strongest starting line-up. When he does play, though, he always impresses.

Manchester Utd | Scott McTominay

Just like with City, picking an underrrated player in this United side is tough - but for very different reasons.

But we feel that McTominay - or McSauce as he's known - deserves a mention. He may not technically be the best player at the club but his attitude is superb.

FBL-ENG-PR-MAN UTD-ARSENAL

Newcastle | Fabian Schar

Schar’s centre-back partner, Jamal Lechalles, gets most of the plaudits but the Swiss is a very decent defender.

Has a very tough job on his hands to help Steve Bruce’s side stay up this season, though.

Leicester City v Newcastle United - Premier League

Norwich | Emiliano Buendia

Teemu Pukki has hogged the headlines this campaign but Buendia has been sensational. The 22-year-old has already registered four assists and looks a serious talent.

Burnley FC v Norwich City - Premier League

Sheffield United | John Lundstram

A Fantasy Football favourite. But Lundsram is more than that. A few years ago, he was playing in League Two with Oxford.

Now he’s a Premier Leaguer regular.

Southampton | Moussa Djenepo

Hands up who had heard of Djenepo before this season…

Southampton signed him from Standard Liege in the summer and the Malian has hit the ground running.

His individual goal against Sheffield United was sensational. His strike against Brighton wasn’t bad either.

Sheffield United v Southampton FC - Premier League

Tottenham | Harry Winks

In a side containing Christian Eriksen, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane, Winks is often overlooked. But his ability to keep the ball and feed the aforementioned trio is vital.

Tottenham Hotspur v Aston Villa - Premier League

Watford | Abdoulaye Doucoure

Doucoure and Watford haven’t had a particularly great start to the new season in truth. But now in his fourth season at Vicarage Road, Doucoure is a crucial player for the Hornets. One thing is for sure, is Watford were to be relegated, there will be plenty of clubs interested in the French midfielder.

Watford FC v Arsenal FC - Premier League

West Ham | Issa Diop

Felipe Anderson, Manual Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko, Sebastian Haller - West Ham are full of attacking talent. But Diop is emerging as a top-quality defender. The 22-year-old showed a lot of potential last season, missing just five league games for the Hammers.

Brighton & Hove Albion v West Ham United - Premier League

Wolves | Morgan Gibbs-White

This was a tough one. Wolves got plenty of plaudits for finishing seventh last season and have some very, very good players. So we’ve gone for 19-year-old Gibbs-White. When speaking about young England prospects, the midfielder is rarely mentioned. Yet he made 26 appearances for Wolves in the league last season.
