Jermain Defoe may turn 37 next week, but he hasn't lost his goalscoring touch.

In six appearances for Rangers in the Scottish Premier League this season, the Bournemouth loanee has scored a chart-topping six goals.

Incredibly, Defoe is currently averaging a goal every 44 minutes due to the fact he's come off the bench three times and only played 263 minutes in total.

Defoe has been a reliable finisher throughout his career, scoring plenty of goals for the likes of Portsmouth, Tottenham and Sunderland.

In 2014 he tried his hand at playing in the MLS with Toronto FC but only lasted a year after struggling to settle down in his new surroundings.

Eleven goals in 19 appearances was still a pretty decent return from Defoe, though, and there was one time where his thirst for goals got the better of him.

In a game against New York Red Bulls on 28 June, 2014, Toronto won a free-kick just outside the box and Defoe wanted it.

But teammate Gilberto refused to hand over the ball, which prompted a furious reaction from Defoe as he tried to take it with force.

Defoe eventually gave up and walked away saying "f****** joke" as Gilberto lined up to take the free-kick.

And what did Gilberto do next? He scored an absolute worldie, obviously.

Defoe's frown quickly turned into a smile as he laughed to himself and ran to celebrate with Gilberto, who showed no hard feelings towards the former Spurs striker for acting so petulant.

Credit where it's due to Defoe, not many players would have reacted the way he did after being denied a free-kick and then watching someone else score it so emphatically.

Admit it, you wouldn't have either.
