The weekend is near and there’s an entire slate of Premier League action to entertain us.The pick of the games on Saturday comes at 3pm at Anfield, where league leaders Liverpool take on Leicester City and former manager Brendan Rodgers.Liverpool have won each of their opening seven league matches but they face a Leicester side full of confidence. The Foxes, third in the table, have won four of their past five matches and are thrashed Newcastle 5-0 in their last outing. Then there are four matches on Sunday, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal all in action.

Pep Guardiola’s side take on Wolves, Chelsea travel to Southampton and Arsenal host Bournemouth.

Those three matches kick off at 2pm - and then Super Sunday concludes with an affair that, to be honest, doesn’t appear to be ‘super’ at all.

Newcastle United play Manchester United at St James. Park at 4:30pm.

That’s 19th-placed Newcastle against Man United, who have made their worst-ever start to a Premier League season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have collected nine points from seven matches and there are increasing calls for the Norwegian’s departure.

Anyone who watched United in their 0-0 draw against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday - in which they didn’t manage a single shot on target - won’t be enthused about the prospect of watching them again on Sunday.

As for Newcastle, they have scored just four goals in the league all season.

If Sky Sports could do it all over again, surely they’d have this game in a Saturday 3pm slot and have Liverpool versus Leicester as Sunday’s late game.

Fans have taken to Twitter to express their disbelief at Newcastle versus Man United being part of the Super Sunday billing.

“Surely the Advertising Standards Authority need to step in and stop Sky Sports from calling Newcastle against Manchester United a 'Super' Sunday game,” joked @JonnyGabriel.

Meanwhile, @One_Arsenal claimed: “‘El Sackico’ would be a more appropriate name.”

Sunday afternoon may just be time to sort out that thing you’ve constantly been putting off.
