Super featherweight champion Ewa Brodnicka is getting ready to defend her title in a fight against Edith Soledad Matthysse in Poland.

Like with all fights up and down the country and all over the globe, there has been a pre-fight face-off, where the two boxers get to stare into their opponent's eyes and try get an early mental advantage going into fight night.

During the face-off between the two female fighters, champion Brodnicka went to extreme lengths to try and throw off her opponent as she planted a kiss right on the lips of Matthysse, who instantly delivered a slap to Brodnicka’s face in retaliation.

The pair then had to be separated before the incident escalated into further violence.

In the video of the face-off, the promoter can be seen initially laughing because of the kiss, before then realising that Matthysse was not impressed.

He then began to intervene to make sure the tension didn't boil over as both fighters started to shove one another, with Brodnicka attempting to throw a slap of her own.

Ewa Brodnicka has a 100% boxing record going into the fight. She's fought 16 times and has 16 wins to her name.

As for Edith Matthysse, she has a boxing record of 16 wins and 10 defeats. She is the sister of the former WBA “regular” welterweight champion Lucas Matthysse, who fought legendary figure Manny Pacquiao in July of 2018.

Her claim to fame was when she defeated Jelena Mrdjenovich in 2015 by a highly unlikely unanimous decision to become the unified Jr. lightweight champion.
