Antoine Griezmann's start to life in Barcelona hasn't exactly gone to plan thus far.

The Frenchman completed his long-awaited move to Catalonia in the summer, with the Blaugrana activating his €120m release clause at Atletico Madrid.

So far, he's struggled to gel with Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi, scoring just three goals in his first nine appearances in all competitions.

The fact he has been shoved out wide to accommodate the South American pair certainly hasn't helped his cause.

Griezmann was pretty much anonymous from the left-hand side of the attack in the 2-1 win over Inter Milan, with his second-half replacement Ousmane Dembele clearly a far better fit out wide.

So what do Barca do with Griezmann? Well, they will surely persevere with the Frenchman, as on his day, he is one of the finest players in world football.

However, French media outlet Le10 Sport, per AS, are already reporting that Barca will look to offload Griezmann in the summer of 2020, potentially in a swap deal for Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar.

But what's the reasoning behind the report that Barca are prepared to cut their losses on their marquee summer signing? You guessed it, his relationship with Messi.

Even before Griezmann arrived at the Camp Nou, there were doubts over whether he and Messi would get along.

Some reports stated that the Argentine was against his signing, but there has never been any shred of evidence to support those allegations.

In a recent interview, Griezmann did state that he has barely spoken to Messi as of yet, but there appeared to be no malicious tone on the matter.

He said: "He [Messi] is not someone who talks a lot and neither am I. It's difficult. I have already given him some mate (tea) and we are going in the right direction.

"But he has been injured a lot so it is difficult to make this connection, to improve it. We are two good guys, nice people, and I'm here to help anyone on the team."
