The most electrifying man in sports entertainment stepped foot into a WWE ring for the first time in over three years - and boy have the fans missed him.

You'd forgive the company if they wanted to save him for a part in the show much later on to keep the viewers watching, but The Rock appeared just five minutes into SmackDown's first episode on FOX.

It was also billed as the 20th anniversary episode of the blue brand, so they had to get the man who coined the 'SmackDown' phrase to appear.

However it was Becky Lynch who was the first person in the ring, and she was immediately confronted by 'King' Baron Corbin, who hit her with an End Of Days at Extreme Rules back in July.

Just as it looked like the two may come into physical contact again, they were interrupted by The Great One, who entered the Staples Center to a thunderous reaction.

With The Rock and Lynch teaming up against Corbin, you knew who was coming out on top, and it didn't take long for the eight-time WWE Champion to start humiliating the winner of the 2019 King Of The Ring tournament.

Corbin was referred to as a 'broke-a** Burger King on crack' lookalike, but he did call him a 'super-tough dude' - unfortunately for Baron, the Brahma Bull got the fans to chant 'S.T.D' at him!

There were also some very non-PG comments about Corbin's testicles, which he ended up describing as 'perfectly adequate'.

The duo eventually coaxed Corbin into a fight, and he was outnumbered and overwhelmed as The Rock rained down with strikes, Lynch hit a spinning leg-drop, and a People's Elbow was hit for the first time in a long while.

King Corbin was sent packing for the night and the WWE Universe got to see one of the greatest superstars of all-time for the first time since WrestleMania 32 - positives all round to open the biggest episode of SmackDown for some time!
