Marko Grujic is a name that still entices Liverpool fans. The Serbian midfielder was signed by the Reds from Red Star Belgrade in 2016, but he made just eight senior appearances in his first year-and-a-half on Merseyside. In January 2018, he was shipped off to Cardiff on loan, where he didn't exactly set the world alight, leading to fears that he may not make the grade in English football. However, Grujic excelled on loan at Hertha Berlin in 2018/19, so much so that the German club coughed up £2m to take him on a temporary basis for this season as well. And the Serbian will be enticing Reds supporters even more after his performances this season, with his most recent masterclass coming last night against Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Hertha won the game 3-1 and Grujic's performance was so good that BT Sport decided to publish his personal highlights on their social media channels.

GRUJIC DROPS A MASTERCLASS VS DUSSELDORF

Sixty-one passes completed, 10 duels won and all five of his attempted dribbles completed.

What more do you want from a deep-lying midfielder?

With James Milner and Adam Lallana's powers beginning to wane at Anfield, next season could be the perfect time for Grujic to force his way into Jurgen Klopp's first-team plans.

The Liverpool boss is renowned for playing three defensive-minded midfielder behind his immense attacking trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

But what Grujic could add to that defensive stability is his uncanny ability to break the opposition's defensive lines with his passing, as well as his powerful, driving dribbles.

Alongside the likes of Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita and Gini Wijnaldum, Liverpool would boast a serious array of talent in the middle of the park for next season.
