Adrian telling Jamie Vardy to *f*** off’ went down well with Liverpool fans

Adrian has done an admirable job for Liverpool since joining the club in August.

The 32-year-old replaced Simon Mignolet and was under no illusions that he was the Reds’ second-choice goalkeeper behind Alisson.

The Spaniard probably didn’t expect to play much at all during the opening months of his Anfield career - the odd cup game here and there, perhaps - but he’s already in double figures for appearances and we’re only in October.

Alisson suffered a freak injury in the 4-1 win over Norwich City on the opening weekend of the season, slipping while taking a goal-kick.

Adrian subsequently came on and, with Alisson still sidelined, has remained in goal ever since.

Liverpool have now won all eight of their Premier League fixtures so far this season, with their latest victory coming against Leicester City on Saturday afternoon.

A late James Milner penalty earned all three points for the Reds with virtually the final kick of the game.

Adrian was unable to keep a clean sheet - James Maddison equalised for the Foxes with 10 minutes left to play - but he did produce one rather X-rated moment which went down very well with Liverpool fans.

After being barged to the ground by Jamie Vardy, Adrian reacted by screaming “f*** off!’ at the former England striker.

You don’t need to be an expert lip-reader to work out what was said there!

What happened to ‘chat s***, get banged,’ Jamie?

Liverpool fans on social media certainly enjoyed Adrian giving Vardy some lip…

This is likely to be Adrian’s final Premier League appearance for some time, with Alisson poised to return to action after the international break.

The Reds take on Manchester United at Old Trafford on October 20.
