It was quite a night for former Liverpool goalkeeper, Pepe Reina in Italy.

After AC Milan's first-choice stopper, Gigi Donnarumma fell ill in the hours before their clash with Genoa, the Spanish keeper was thrust into the starting line-up.

Thing's did not start well though.

Milan have endured a torrid start to their season and Reina's howler would only have compounded that.

However, Milan were able to turn it around as they took the lead thanks to goals from Theo Hernandez and Frank Kessie.

There was drama on tap as the referee staggeringly handed out four - yes four - red cards.

Reina though, was in no mood to be a laughing stock.

Rolling back the years to those famous Liverpool days, the 37-year-old flung himself to his right and pulled off a fantastic save to preserve his sides lead.

Brilliant.

Talk about a roller-coaster evening - Reina went from an absolute villain to the people's champion in a matter of seconds.

Milan managed to hold out to clinch a vital three points and open up some breathing space between themselves and the relegation zone.

They'll certainly be hoping for a far more routine time of it should they have to call on the services of Reina again.
