‘Ole’s at the wheel, tell me how good does it feel…’

Well, it doesn't feel very good right now.

Back when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was appointed as interim manager at Manchester United, that chant could be heard for almost 90 minutes during matches.

But it’s not really been heard for months at Old Trafford.

After replacing Jose Mourinho, Solskjaer won 14 of his 20 matches as interim manager.

United had always insisted they would wait until the end of the season before making a decision on his permanent future.

But the turning point was March 6.

United travelled to Paris trailing 2-0 from the first leg but, somehow, managed to progress to the quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory.

United supporters were desperate for Solskjaer to be appointed permanent manager - and that includes club legend Gary Neville.

Neville interview Solskaer after United’s miraculous victory and he had ‘three very quick questions’ for the Norwegian.

- How long would you like on your contract?
- What would you like your salary to be?
- Where would you like the statue?

Well, this all looks a bit awkward now doesn’t it?

Solskjaer was appointed as permanent manager a few weeks later.

But since that victory in France, United have won just FIVE times from 23 matches and currently sit two points above the relegation zone.

Now, Solskajer is seriously under pressure.

He certainly won’t be getting a statue at the Theatre of Dreams anytime soon that's for sure…
