In the Saturday lunchtime kick-off between Brighton and Tottenham in the Premier League, we saw a pretty horrific injury sustained by Hugo Lloris. In the opening minutes, Lloris went to catch a cross only to spill the ball and fall awkwardly on his arm.It resulted in a gruesome elbow injury which could sideline the Frenchman for months. And on Sunday night in Italy, we saw an equally grim injury due to a nasty fall.During Napoli’s 0-0 draw with Torino, Elseid Hysaj had to be stretchered off with a fractured sternum after falling heavily on his head.

Hysaj challenged Cristian Ansaldi for a header which caused to land upside down on the back of his neck.

Luckily, Ansaldi grabbed him and appeared to soften his fall somewhat.

But that didn’t prevent Hysaj from being stretchered off and X-Rays showed he had suffered a parcellar fracture of the sternum.

At this stage, it’s unknown how long the Albanian will be ruled out for.

The right-back has been a consistent starter in this talented Napoli side for four years now having joined from Empoli in the summer of 2015.

In his first three seasons at the San Paulo, he missed just seven Serie A matches.

But it seems he’s now set to be sidelined for a lengthy period.
