Nicolas Pepe's start to life in English football has been a baptism of fire.

The Ivorian winger joined Arsenal from Lille in the summer for a fee of £72m, a price tag that seems to have hampered the 24-year-old's confidence.

Pepe is yet to score from open play in the Premier League and his disasterclass versus Manchester United resulted in rival fans slating him - and Arsenal supporters questioning his purchase.

However, it's incredibly harsh to judge any player after just eight games in a new league, especially one as competitive as the Premier League.

Pepe has still produced two assists in Arsenal colours and has shown glimpses of his blistering pace and dribbling skills.

The latter is his primary weapon and he certainly brought it to the table in the 1-0 win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

Pepe went on mazy run early in the second-half, leaving a number of Cherries defenders for dead.

PEPE'S REMINDS THE WORLD OF HIS TALENT

The guy is seriously talented, but he probably needs some support.

Unai Emery's insistence on not playing a natural number 10 or a runner from midfield like Joe Willock is not helping Pepe's cause.

He thrives off of quick interplay, something he may be able to produce with Alexandre Lacazette once the Frenchman returns from injury.

Or maybe Emery needs to bring an end to his bizarre feud with Ozil...

The lack of support he receives on the right is a bit of a concern.

However, the marauding Hector Bellerin could be another key to Pepe's success in the coming months.

The Spaniard's passing ability and prowess going forward will surely benefit the Ivorian and could finally see him fulfil that £72m price tag.

If Bellerin and Lacazette can't bring the best out of him, then Arsenal do have a bit of a problem on their hands.
