If Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could go back and start the 2019/20 season again, he would.

Manchester United are in a miserable position right now, just two points above the relegation zone after making their worst start in Premier League history.

Sunday’s defeat to Newcastle United brought their campaign to a new low and there seems no solution to their issues.

Would a new manager solve everything? Not everyone is convinced.

“United can get rid of Solskjaer but that simply masks the problem: [Ed] Woodward & the Glazers,” tweeted The Times’ Chief Football Writer Henry Winter after the Newcastle defeat.

“Too focused on profits, not the football.”

Indeed, two reports paint a seriously concerning picture of the situation at Old Trafford.

It sounds like the international break has come at the right time for Solskjaer, who is facing an uphill battle to get his players back on side.

For The Sun claim that the players are losing faith in the Norwegian and have stopped listening to him.

The players cannot see what the plan is besides a lot of running.

Their opponents have worked out how to stop the counter-attacks that made them so dangerous in Solskjaer’s early days and a plan B - if there is one - is not being followed.

Solskjaer has frequently ripped into his players in the dressing room this season, telling them they were ‘c**p’ after the recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal.

He also told his squad that none of them would have even made the bench when he played for Man United.

And he was fuming after the 1-0 loss to Newcastle, telling his players: “You’re going to get me the sack,” per an additional report by The Sun.

The Norwegian proceeded to label their performance “embarrassing” in a furious rant.

Solskjaer, 46, criticised his players for not following his strategies and claimed Championship clubs were playing better than them.

So mild-mannered in public, Solskjaer is losing it behind closed doors.
