Conor McGregor remembered the one year anniversary of his loss at UFC 229 this week by firing a tweet in the direction of his opponent that night, Khabib Nurmagomedov. It's been over a year now since Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov fought against each other for the UFC Lightweight Championship at UFC 229.Nurmagomedov won on the night and retained his title after forcing McGregor to tap out to a neck crank submission in the fourth round. However, the action continued after the bell rang to end the fight, as both fighter's teams attacked one another inside and outside of the Octagon, resulting in a brawl.Due to the brawl, both fighters were suspended. Notorious was suspended for six months, while The Eagle was suspended for nine months.

Since the fight concluded, the Irishman has constantly asked the Russian for a rematch, and that hasn't changed one year on.

On the one year anniversary of their meeting inside the Octagon at UFC 229, McGregor sent out a tweet in the direction of Khabib, asking for a rematch once more, even requesting for the rematch to take place in Moscow, Russia.

He said in his tweet of a GIF of himself and Khabib fighting: "F**k an 8 count let’s dance baby #1yearago #moscow #s**tinthebus #runningands**tingatthesametime."

As of writing, the UFC Lightweight Champion is yet to respond to McGregor, but if his recent interviews are anything to go by, Notorious isn't going to get his rematch anytime soon.

Since beating McGregor a year ago, Khabib has gone on to successfully defend his championship against Dustin Poirier in Abu Dhabi at UFC 242.

The Eagle expected to fight either Tony Ferguson or possibly Georges St-Pierre next, not Conor.

In fact, Khabib has said McGregor doesn't deserve a rematch against him, and that the Irishman would have to go on a significant winning streak in UFC in order to change his mind.

A rematch between Khabib and McGregor is unlikely to happen anytime soon, but Notorious is expected to return to the Octagon within the next few months, depending on the outcome of his issues outside of UFC.
