In an interview with a Spanish radio station, Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina dismissed reports he is unhappy at Anfield but refused to rule out a summer move to rivals Manchester United reports The Sun.

Reina has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford since the announcement that Edwin Van der Sar is set to retire at the end of the current season.

Sir Alex Ferguson is prepared to pay the £20million that will activate the get-out clause in the Spaniards contract in order to bring Reina to Manchester United in time for the start of next season.

Speaking to Onda Cero in Spain, the Liverpool stopper hinted that a move from Merseyside to Manchester is possible when he said, "Yes, well Van der Sar will hang up his gloves in the summer so of course they [Manchester United] are looking.

"I can't do anything. I can't say anything logically as I have a contract with Liverpool. Of course one likes to fight for titles and be in a team that does that.

"We always fought to be in the Champions League and try to win the title. But unfortunately it hasn't been the case in the last couple of years."

Liverpool fans have already lost one high profile signing in January when Fernando Torres moved to Chelsea for a British record £50m, and manager Kenny Dalglish will be keen to keep hold of his other Anfield stars.

Reina was also pressed for an answer on whether he would think about quitting Anfield if Liverpool finish outside the top four and would therefore face another season without Champions League football.

"I won't lie,” he said. “I want to play in the Champions League and challenge for titles."

With Manchester United currently sat at the top of the Barclays Premier League table, four points clear of their nearest challengers and a whopping sixteen points clear of Liverpool.

The Red Devils will certainly be able to offer Reina what he wants, and so a summer offer that will take him to Old Trafford may be too good to turn down.
