Manchester United fans must be dreaming of a world where Sir Alex Ferguson never retired.

Since the great man hung up his hairdryer in 2013, the Red Devils have experienced one positive Premier League season at most and even that saw them humbled by Manchester City.

And since the trio of David Moyes, Louis van Gaal and Jose Mourinho all tried their hand, the responsibility now lies with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and he might be the worst of the bunch.

It was all sunshine and rainbows during his time as interim coach, but the decision to award him the permanent job has spectacularly misfired.

Solskjaer has only won four of the 17 Premier League games since his appointment and the Red Devils currently find themselves just two points about the relegation zone.

United's dire 2019/20 season

The situation is so dire that the likes of Sam Allardyce and Jamie O'Hara are genuinely suggesting that United could become embroiled in a relegation battle.

That, and the fact The Sun are reporting that Solskjaer could be sacked if they lose to Norwich City and that the game with their great rivals Liverpool has already been written off.

So, if there's one thing we can take from this situation it's United, funnily enough, won't be winning the Premier League this season.

Andy Tate becoming United boss???

Considering they're a whopping 15 points behind leaders Liverpool after just eight games, it seems a pretty obvious statement to make but we need to emphasise the situation even more.

Paddy Power have now stabilised their odds at United winning the league to 500/1, with Leicester City deemed more likely, and SkyBet have pushed the boat out even farther to 750/1.

But if we return to the Irish bookmakers, we can make some amusing comparisons and see that Andy Tate becoming the next permanent United boss is also 500/1. Yes, you read that right.

The situation is so dire at Old Trafford that their chances of winning the Premier League are the same as a bloke from FullTimeDEVILS replacing Solskjaer.

And amusingly, the unlikely trio of Usain Bolt, Neil Warnock and John Terry are also on 500/1.

Similarly, Betway slashed their odds on the Loch Ness Monster being discovered to 500/1 back in 2017 and the discovery of alien life is considered light-years more likely by Paddy Power.

But if it helps, Leicester's league victory in 2016 and novelty bets like Elvis Presley being found alive are still more unlikely. Scant consolation, mind.
