YouTuber has ranked the Premier League's greatest ever strikers into tiers

  • Kobe Tong

The Premier League has played host to some incredible strikers since its inception in 1992.

In terms of goals scored, Alan Shearer is head and shoulders above everybody else with 260 strikes and it’s going to take some serious loyalty and consistency for anybody to catch him.

However, you could certainly argue that Thierry Henry is the most talented forward the competition has seen and Sergio Aguero is a strong candidate for being the most ruthless.

With almost three decade’s worth of changes and eras, comparing these strikers can be incredibly difficult, but it hasn’t stopped YouTuber ‘SpencerFC’ from trying.

The part-time football presenter and owner of Hashtag United decided to use the popular website ‘TierMaker’ to organise the Premier League’s greatest ever forwards into a coherent ranking.

Ranking Premier League strikers

The video has already been viewed 96,000 times in less than 24 hours and with nearly 1,000 comments to boot, it’s fair to say his choices have caused controversy.

The 100-club and long-term scoring has played a massive role in his decision, so bear that in mind when you see Luis Suarez below Darren Bent. It is, after all, completely subjective.

The top tier of ‘Premier Legend’ was reserved for just four strikers, while the bottom category ‘Not Scored Enough’ is self explanatory despite including some incredibly talented players.

Alan Shearer, Wayne Rooney, Thierry Henry and Sergio Aguero.
