We’re eight matches into the Premier League season and we already have a fair idea how the final table will look come May.

Liverpool and Manchester City look set to battle for the title once again - although this time Jurgen Klopp’s side are favourites having already established an eight-point lead.

Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United don’t exactly look strong enough to challenge them once again.

But there’s a possibility than the likes of Leicester, West Ham or Crystal Palace could gatecrash the top-six given their fast starts to the campaign.

At the other end, Norwich look to be in trouble despite beating Man City earlier in the season, while Watford are still yet to register a win.

But there are 30 more games remaining and a lot can change.

That’s where infogoal.net come in.

They’ve used data in an attempt to ‘forecast’ the final Premier League table.

Their website says that they work out the final league table by “using the past results and points accrued combined with simulations of all remaining matches.”

And here are the results:

So, are Liverpool set to finally end their Premier League drought?

Despite their eight-point lead at this early stage, Jamie Carragher has insisted that Klopp’s side need to try and extend that while they can.

"It is a great position to be in, there’s no doubt, and if you didn’t say that you would be a liar," Carragher said.

And what Liverpool have to do is capitalise as much. And not just not think eight points is a great lead; try and make it 10, make it 12, if possible.

"Especially while City have problems at the back, like having Laporte out. Because there is no doubt that when Laporte is back and City back on their feet, they’re a team capable of doing exactly what Liverpool are doing and going and winning 17, 18 games."
