Welterweight world champion Errol Spence Jr was left in intensive care after a horror high-speed crash in Dallas, Texas early Thursday morning.The 29-year-old was driving back from a nightclub in his white Ferrari, and was believed to be not wearing a seatbelt as his vehicle flipped multiple times down 500 S Riverfront Blvd.The impact of the accident resulted in Spence Jr being thrown out of his vehicle, leaving him in a ‘serious condition’.The unified champion was rushed to Methodist Dallas Medical Centre, but is expected to survive according to local authorities.A representative for Premiere Boxing Champions made an official statement on the matter, saying: “Errol was in an accident, and his parents are with him at the hospital.

“The doctors are monitoring his condition, but his injuries are not life threatening. We will have further updates as the doctors update his condition. We’re all wishing the best for Errol.”

Everyone is hoping that the boxing champion can make a swift recovery and continue his dominance in the sport, where he is most known for his destruction of Kell Brook back in 2017 where he won the IBF world welterweight title.

The American currently holds an unbeaten 26-0 record, including a total of 21 knockout victories. 

More recently, Spence Jr won by a split decision over Shawn Porter not even a month ago.

Porter was one of many to come out on social media to support and wish Errol Spence Jr well with his recovery, with the two-time welterweight champion tweeting: "My dad always tells me, ‘this boxing thing is a part of your life but it’s not going to last forever. U still have a lot of life to live after that’. With that, I’m praying for @ErrolSpenceJr & his family because he has a lot of life to live and I pray that he recovers quickly and fully.”

Spencer Jr was also poised for what would have been a lucrative unification bout with unbeaten WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford, who also came out with his prayers for the injured former Olympian:

The latest update as of writing this article is that Spence is in a "stable condition" and "expected to make a full recovery".
