Last week’s Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins Hell In A Cell main event was met with derision among wrestling fans after the referee called a stoppage to the fight.
After hitting several Curb Stomps onto The Fiend, and also hitting him with a pedigree, the Universal Champion lost his head and started punishing his challenger with steel chairs and then eventually a sledgehammer.
The use of said weapon led to the referee calling an end to the main event, which was met with boos from those in attendance.
However, according to Dave Meltzer, the editor of the 'Wrestling Observer Newsletter', WWE had another finish in mind, although it would have still seen the match end in a no content.
He claims that the alternative finish would have seen Wyatt taking a bump off the cell, one similar to Mankind back when he took on The Undertaker, which would have prompted the referee’s stoppage.

According to Meltzer’s sources, this ending was Vince McMahon’s idea.
Post-PPV reports had McMahon laughing at the negative crowd reaction to the eventual ending, with some claiming it was to disguise his anger.
WWE referee Rod Zapata later explained what went into his decision to stop the fight.
He said: “With Bray motionless and Seth clearly doing whatever it was going to take to win that match… I had to think of the competitors’ safety and at that moment, I did what I thought was best.”
WWE’s website also posted a statement to clear up what happened in the fight.
“For all the nightmarish tenacity with which 'The Fiend' Bray Wyatt has pursued Seth Rollins over the last few months, the otherworldly Superstar was kept from the title due to a match-stoppage ruling that led to Rollins retaining the title — a decision that proved to be instantly controversial at the end of the pair's grisly Hell in a Cell Match.
“Clearly sensing that a line was about to be crossed, the referee tried to stop Rollins from using the hammer.
“But The Beastslayer did it anyway, bringing the tool straight down on the whole pile, causing the ref to wave off the match while a crew of medics tended to Wyatt.”News Now - Sport News
