The Premier League's best and worst XIs so far this season according to stats

Sergio Aguero and Kevin De Bruyne both feature in the Premier League's best XI so far this season according to stats

There have been a number of standout performers in the Premier League so far this season.

Kevin De Bruyne is the early favourite to pick up the PFA Premier League Player of the Year award, having already notched nine assists in the seven games he has played.

Sergio Aguero and Pierre-Emerick Aubamayang have been lethal in front of goal and are also contenders, while Sadio Mane has been Liverpool's standout player in their perfect start.

But who makes up the best Premier League XI so far this season?

WhoScored.com use stats to calculate a overall rating for every player and there are a few surprise inclusions in the best Premier League XI.

Liverpool have been dominant this season but only two of their players make the cut: Joel Matip and Roberto Firmino.

Five players from outside the 'Big Six' also make the side.

It's been a nightmare start to the season for Manchester United.

They've had trouble in front of goal and two of their attackers, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard, make the Premier League's worst XI.

It's also been a season to forget so far for the likes of Bertrand, Schneiderlin and Almiron.
