England versus Bulgaria had to be paused in Sofia due to apparent racist abuse from home fans towards England players.

Three Lions captain Harry Kane was in deep discussion with the referee, with an announcement read out on the tannoy warning that the game could be cancelled.

In the build-up to the game, Kane informed his Three Lions teammates that they would would walk off if racist abuse was directed at their players from the stands.

Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham told the media: “Harry Kane said that if it happens (racist abuse) and we're not happy with it, we speak to the player and if he's not happy, we all come off the pitch together.

“It's a team thing. Don't isolate one person, we're a whole team. If it happens to one of us, it happens to all of us.”

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol tweeted that it was Tyrone Mings who appeared to be the victim of the abuse from Bulgaria fans.

He wrote on Twitter: "Tyrone Mings appeared to be the player being racially abused. He reported it to captain Harry Kane. Kane reported it to referee. He told Uefa delegate and message was played on PA. England following UEFA protocols."
