The Gypsy King is ready to cancel his rematches with current WBC heavyweight Deontay Wilder as the Brit reportedly will bank £12million from his WWE appearance.

A scheduled fight has already been agreed with Fury coming up against Braun Strowman in Saudi Arabia at the end of the month.

The decision by the 31-year-old has come as a shock to most boxing fans, as Fury still hasn’t fully recovered from the gash he picked up in his most recent bout against Otto Wallin.

It is a great risk that this WWE appearance will jeopardise his chance of a rematch against Wilder and said there is "a hell of a chance of that" the match with Braun Strowman could scupper his plans in future boxing fights.

The current WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar has a scheduled fight against Cain Velasquez. The pair have history as Lesnar’s upcoming opponent took his UFC crown from him back in 2010.

However, there is already talk surrounding Fury and that he will meet the winner of that fight early next year.

If Fury chose to accept, the Mail have reported, as per The Sun, that the Brit could bank as much as £39.66million. A sum that is largely significant compared to the fees he will make from the two contracted rematches with American heavyweight Wilder.

It wasn’t Fury who was first an admirer of WWE, it was his son Prince who is the fan, and it seems his dad is taking his appearance in the sport seriously.

At the launch event, he said: "I’ve been training at the WWE facility in Orlando.

"I was supposed to be resting while the eye mended, but I’m excited about 385lb of Braun coming at me.

"Me against Wilder is the biggest fight in boxing but I’m not thinking about that now. I’m just enjoying my life and concentrating on WWE."

Making the switch to WWE will not please everyone in the boxing world, especially Fury’s promoter Frank Warren.

"I’m not in favour of this and it does put the Wilder fight in jeopardy," said the veteran promoter.

"But he’s a grown man who makes his own decisions. I hope it’s more a show than a fight."
