Adidas release ‘Messi 15 years’ Nemeziz boot to celebrate 15 years since Lionel Messi's debut

It’s 15 years since the greatest player of all-time stepped onto a professional pitch for the first ever time.

On October 16 2004, a 17-year-old Lionel Messi came off the bench for Barcelona against Espanyol in the 82nd-minute.

The rest, as they say, is history.

Messi has since played 692 times for the club, scoring 604 goals, winning 10 league titles, four Champions Leagues, six Copa del Reys, eight Supercopa de Espana, three Super Cups and three Club World Cups.

Oh and he’s claimed five Ballon d’Ors establishing himself as the best player to have ever played the game.

And to commemorate the 15th anniversary of his Barca debut, Adidas have launched a very special boot.

The ‘Messi 15 years’ Nemeziz boot celebrates 15 glorious years of Messi in professional football.

And there are some very special design features.

Firstly, the boot is Argentina white and blue. Messi is the current captain of his nation and has earned 91 caps. It also has a touch of gold as a nod to the numbers trophies he’s lifted during his career.

There are a subtle five dots on the left foot, representing his five Ballon d’Or wins. While there’s his personal 'M’ logo on the right boot.

On the arch, the words ’15 AÑOS’ which translates to ’15 years.’

The left inner sole has ’10’ written on it - Messi’s favourite shirt number. The right has ‘82nd min - 16-10-2004’ the minute and date that Messi first stepped foot on a professional pitch.

Adidas say that: “NEMEZIZ 19+ is built for the most agile and multidirectional players. Created specifically for those who play unpredictably and with spectacular flair, footwork and movement, the revolutionary upper construction of the NEMEZIZ synergises the function and visual of tension, torsion and compression.”

They will be available to purchase on as well as selected retail partners from October 19  and are expected to cost £229.
