Ronaldo was a special talent.
The Brazilian striker burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old in 1992, scoring 44 times in 47 games in Brazil for Cruzeiro
His scintillating form saw him called up to Brazil's 1994 World Cup squad, before moving to Europe with PSV.
Ronaldo continued to score goals at a quite absurd basis, which he then continued at Barcelona, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
Unfortunately, injuries and his off-field lifestyle eventually caught up with him and Ronaldo would decline rapidly, and his playing career would officially come to an end in 2011.

But he still managed to score 414 times in 616 games and is considered by many as one of the best players of all time.
In fact, Jose Mourinho actually thinks he was the best, even better than Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
"If we are talking strictly about talent and skill, nobody surpasses Ronaldo [Nazario]," he said, per FoxSports.
“When he was at Barcelona with Bobby Robson, I realised that he was the best player I’d ever seen take to the field.
“Injuries killed a career that could have been even more incredible, but the talent that that 19-year-old boy had was something incredible.
“In 1997, Barcelona played against PSG in Rotterdam and Ronaldo’s goal, 1-0. Awesome.”
Following on from those comments, a video has now emerged on Reddit showing 'stuff that Ronaldo did before the age of 21'.
And it's breathtaking. Watch it below:
Ronaldo really did have it all. Power, pace, skill and wonderful technical ability... he really was in a class of his own.
Kylian Mbappe is currently the best young player in the world. Mbappe turns 21 in just a few months and has achieved so much in his short career.
But he looks average compared to what Ronaldo was doing before turning 21.
It's just such a shame that he had such bad luck with injuries - otherwise he would regularly be talked about in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo.News Now - Sport News
