Huge news came out of WWE this week as a major backstage name departed the company.

Three months ago, Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff, once both vital cogs of the Monday Night Wars who then opposed each other in 2003 and 2004 as WWE authority figures, were hired by Vince McMahon in Executive Director roles.

Heyman would look after the Raw side of things whilst Bischoff would manage SmackDown's business as they prepared to move to FOX.

Whilst Heyman's role on Raw seems to be going well, which has included him being involved very high-up in the creative process, Bischoff's job has already been terminated.

Bischoff found out on Tuesday that he would be leaving WWE, with Sports Illustrated reporting that Vince McMahon acted after SmackDown's viewership tumbled by nearly one million people from the opening show on FOX, which featured The Rock.

That reasoning makes the decision seem slightly harsh, but more details have emerged about Bischoff's departure, and if they're true, then it's no surprise to see that he's left WWE.

"Eric had absolutely no vision, and once we were headed into FOX, everything was falling through the cracks," a WWE official told Wrestling Observer Newsletter, per Cageside Seats.

"He messed up multiple times with FOX. Eric also had no stamina for the rigors of the job.”

And Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Radio added more fuel to the fire by making some pretty outlandish claims that he had heard from sources.

"I heard that he just didn’t know anybody. He didn’t know any of the talent. He didn’t go out of his way to learn about anything," said Alvarez.

"He would leave and nobody could get ahold of him. I heard zero, zero good things about Eric Bischoff when he was doing whatever he was doing, I don’t even know what he was doing."

Bischoff will be appearing at Starrcast next month in Baltimore, the weekend where AEW will host their next pay-per-view - Full Gear - which means he will have a live microphone and he can tell everyone if he wishes what really happened.
