On paper, Manchester United vs Liverpool looks a complete mismatch.United have won just two of their last 13 Premier League matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool are looking for a record-equalling 18th consecutive Premier League win.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are two points above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s side are eight points clear at the top of the table. And despite their poor form at Old Trafford in recent years, Liverpool are odds-on to win on Sunday afternoon.Even Sky Sports have got in on the act by allowing pundit Danny Mills to pick an all Liverpool XI when tasked to pick a Man Utd/Liverpool combined XI.

So, do United stand any chance at all?

Well, according to former Arsenal defender, Martin Keown claims it will be the biggest shock in Premier League history if it’s a home win.

“This is the worst form we’ve seen from Manchester United in 30 years,” Keown said on talkSPORT.

If Solskjaer does it this weekend it will be the biggest shock I can ever remember in the Premier League.

The biggest shock he can ever remember?

How about Norwich beating Manchester City earlier this season?

What about a fortnight ago when Wolves went to the Etihad and beat City 2-0?

Yes, it will be a shock but the biggest in Premier League history?

Surely not…

Keown was, of course, part of that Arsenal Invincible side that went the entire 2003/04 Premier League season unbeaten. And he thinks Liverpool could replicate that this campaign.

“I’d have to say they are [capable of going unbeaten]. This is a winning machine," Keown said.

“Manchester City set the standard over the last two seasons with 100 and 98 points, so Liverpool know now. They live like champions, nothing else matters for them but winning and they go out and do it."
