There’s so many damaging stats that we could use to explain just how bad Manchester United have been under Ole Gunnar Solskajer recently.Like the fact they’ve won just five matches in their previous 23 in all competitions, haven’t won away from home since March or have just scored seven goals in their last 10 matches. To make things worse, they face Liverpool tomorrow who are looking for their 18th consecutive Premier League victory. With David de Gea and Paul Pogba ruled out of the clash, Solskjaer will be looking to other members of the squad to produce a surprise victory at Old Trafford. One of those players will be Scott McTominay.

The Scottish midfield has been one of very few positives for United this season and is a guaranteed starter against Liverpool on Sunday.

What we didn’t expect, though, is McTominay to be one of United’s biggest goal threats.

Ok, he hasn’t exactly been prolific. He’s scored just once this season - a screamer against Arsenal.

However, that goal means McTominay is the club’s joint top scorer since the start of April with just three goals.

That’s just embarrassing.

Remember the times when United relied on the likes of Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Ruud van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo, Carlos Tevez Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney to score their goals?

Now, they’re relying on ‘McSauce’.

Yet another stat that shows just how far United have fallen.
